What you wear under your dress is as important as the dress itself and will help create the final shape. The most common bits and pieces are listed here. Just contact me if you don't see what you need.
Prices vary and those listed here are merely a guide as a frilly, embroidered silk Victorian chemise will cost much more than a plain linen mediaeval smock.

Chemise or Smock
You could call it a vest if you like! Worn next to the skin, all eras have their version - some short, some very long, with or without sleeves.
From £20 for simple and short. From £30 for full length versions.
Very frilly Victorian numbers start at £40.
Drawers, Bloomers and Braes
Even our Mediaeval cousins had something to keep their nether regions warm. Braes are very simple, loose mediaeval knickers. It was the Victorians who made them frilly!
From £20 for simple linen ones. Plain Victorian start at £40, the more frilly ones start at £80.
Petticoats
From simple draw-string numbers to Edwardian frills and lace, the petticoats quite often mirror the outer garments in simplicity or complexity.
From £30 for simple draw-string waist. From £80 and upwards for frilly Edwardian numbers.
Cages and Rolls
Full skirts, once in fashion, had a habit of becoming wider and wider as years went by, with more and more petticoats holding out the skirt. These became very heavy and ungainly, so a hoop of cane, whalebone or steel was inserted into the fabric petticoat, thus removing the need for so many petticoats. Eventually the separate cage underskirt was born.
They come in various shapes, usually starting modestly and becoming larger as the style progresses.
