I have made many dresses over the years, elaborate wedding dresses, authentic period costumes and many Goth creations. On the following pages you will see photographs of a selection of these outfits. Some I made for myself, some were commissions. Any dress commissioned is a one-off and I won't exactly duplicate any of these shown, but I can re-interpret them. I can work to your designs but each dress will be unique.
Consequently prices are difficult to list as every dress is different and many factors need to be considered - construction, fabrics, trimmings etc. If the dress is to be authentic in construction, it may involve a lot of hand sewing. Please see the section on Authentic Costume.
Please also bear in mind that some period dresses involve more layers than are apparent. Tudor Gowns are a good example of this as a high born lady would probably wear three or four layers of clothing, comprising of a Farthingale, petticoat, kirtle (an under-dress with a boned bodice) and gown. Please see the Tudor page for a detailed breakdown of this.
The prices give you an idea of costs. Please note that the price is for the dress alone and does not include any undergarments that may be required.
